Top Three Wedding Venues in Houston, TX

Houston has a piece of my heart. I’ve traveled here for many weddings and each visit is uniquely different and special. One reason I love Houston as a wedding hub is simply because it has venue options for every type of couple and is bursting with southern charm & amazingly diverse venues. From the museum district to sports and entertainment, there is an abundance of magical moments to experience here.

Take a look below to find out which Houston wedding venues we find the most charming, picturesque, and unique.

The outdoor view of the vine-covered Chapel at the Old Dobbin Station

Olde Dobbin Station, Montgomery, TX

Style: Southern Vintage

This venue is movie-worthy! It is full of history and you can tell how much work the husband and wife team put into making this hundred-year-old building look new again. Olde Dobbin Station is one of the only historic wedding venues in the Montgomery and North Houston area, perfectly suited for indoor and outdoor weddings. While it has been redone, they managed to maintain the extraordinary feel of buildings from the past; the vines crawling up the exteriors are one of our favorite parts of their decor.

The indoor ceremony site aka The Chapel is impressive and renovated with the guests in mind. On top of the open space and brick walls, it’s fully climate-controlled and can host up to 300 seated guests. Their outdoor ceremony option is simply beautiful featuring a lantern-lined path over a small stone bridge and rock creek that leads to the pond-side ceremony site - gorgeous!

McCoy Station, their reception house, has everything you could want in one space - a huge dining area, dance floor, bar, and cocktail area all in one! Olde Dobbin Station is something old and something new, tucked away in the Houston countryside.

The beautiful outdoor arches between weeping willows at the Forever 5 lakeside ceremony site

Forever 5 Events, Conroe, TX

Style: Organic Elegance

Forever 5 Events is unlike any other Houston wedding venue. It’s modern, transformative, expansive, and jaw-dropping. Location aside, the story behind their name & mission is touching and makes you love them even more.

Found on an enchanted and secluded 16-acre property with 2 cascading ponds flowing into Calfee Lake, you’ll quickly realize just how many beautiful photo opportunities are available to you for your big day. The unique design allows the water to reflect off the floor-to-ceiling windows and the copper-colored metal roof adds to its one-of-a-kind beauty.

If you prefer an indoor setting, they have 5,000 square feet to host up to 200 guests or if you want to be one with nature, they have a breathtaking outdoor ceremony space that is simply magical. At the lakefront ceremony area, you’ll find huge 24-foot tall arches framed by two gorgeous weeping willows - beautiful alone or with your own decor. This venue will make you feel like you have traveled to a unique destination meanwhile you’re only 45 minutes away from Houston!

Newlyweds posing in front of the white open-air chapel of the Meekermark ceremony space

The Meekermark, Magnolia, TX

Style: Modern Rustic

Voted one of the “Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married by Green Wedding Shoes”

The Meekermark is *chefs kiss* because it was built by a family of wedding photographers which means it was designed to make every aspect of your wedding picture-perfect - genius!

As the “newest” and one of the most unique Houston wedding venues, this reconstructed 200-year-old barn is loaded with character. Starting with the outdoor ceremony space, you’ll say your “I Dos” under the trees and soaring white vaulted beams that create an open-air chapel in the forest - there’s nothing quite like it. Then, you can enjoy your indoor reception in their vintage-contemporary barn.

True to a photographer’s vision, you’ll have tons of natural light for the most glorious photos plus their signature Tiffany-blue doors that are unmistakably Meekermark. Although this venue doesn’t offer an indoor ceremony option, it makes up for that by being one-a-a-kind in its design and intention.
