Modern Rapunzel Sendera Springs Kerrville Wedding Inspiration

For this Sendera Springs Kerrville wedding inspiration, we produced a Rapunzel wedding with a modern twist! Our team handled the planning, coordination, flowers, and stationery fit for a modern princess! The idea was hatched when our Creative Director met the most gorgeous human, Jillian Hogan of Jillian Hogan Photography! She had recently moved to the Hill Country and they connected over some of her unique wedding images on Instagram. Jillian wanted to create a wedding shoot but design and planning is not her thing, so she asked Cillia to jump in. Her ideal clients love a princess wedding, so we decided to put a twist on one of our favorite princess stories, Rapunzel!

This Tangled shoot took place at Sendera Springs in Kerrville, TX. We visited a number of venues looking for the perfect place in the Hill Country, but when we saw Sendera Springs for the first time, we just knew. The reception space is full of high ceilings, colossal chandeliers, and a focal mirror over a gorgeous mantle. The venue is luxurious in so many ways. Farmhouse tables in house, a bridge overlooking a gorgeous water feature, plush bridal suite, arches and views that make finding the best place for pictures difficult for all of the right reasons. Sendera Springs was the perfect place to recreate Rapunzel’s dream wedding.

The sun symbol she painted all over her tower, the trailing vines, and the lanterns were essentially in creating this look. The sun earrings and lantern accents at the sweetheart table are all intentional touches used to bring this dream to life. Cillia chose a colored dress from Opal and June instead of white so that all of the details would stand out from the immaculate neutrals and stone at the venue.

We wanted to focus on how a fairy tale wedding could be modern and colorful, not just blingy opulence dripping in ballgowns and white flowers. We used a vivid color story with different shades of purple, pink, and golden yellows. We created a ruffly floral headpiece for the bride in coordinating vibrant shades and wove the theme into every detail possible.

As we planned details and flowers, our team asked, what would Rapunzel love and how can I use those things to create a dream wedding? She is portrayed as a fun, organic, adventurous woman in her story and subsequent tv series. Rarely wearing shoes and getting into all kinds of trouble! We think she would be thrilled with a wedding full of playful details, cake that tells her story, sunflowers, and ruffly carnations everywhere.

The stationary was a particularly fun piece to create as we got to pull our some of our favorite papers and do some hand folding, lettering, and wax sealing to our heart’s content. How dreamy would it be to receive that work of art in the mail? We are not certain we would break that seal!

We hope you enjoy this session as much as we enjoyed creating it! After months of planning and hours wiring roses for the boat scene, we give you, the Tangled Shoot. Photos by Jillian Hogan Photography
